The story of Sarvajanik University is inseparable from the history of Surat itself. The parent body, the Sarvajanik Education Society (SES), was founded in 1912 by visionary philanthropists with the motto "Let Education be accessible to all." Over the last century, SES built some of the most iconic educational institutions in South Gujarat. In 2021, to provide more autonomy, updated curricula, and a unified academic identity, SES consolidated its premier colleges to form Sarvajanik University. The university's vision is to uphold its historic philanthropic values while transforming into a global center of excellence that fosters innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.

SU operates through several highly distinguished constituent institutes, many of which have decades of independent legacy:

Faculty of Engineering & Technology (SCET): The Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) is a flagship institute within the university. It offers highly sought-after B.Tech and M.Tech programs in Computer Engineering, IT, Mechanical, Civil, and cutting-edge fields like Artificial Intelligence.

Eligibility Criteria

Engineering (B.Tech): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Admission is heavily reliant on GUJCET / JEE Main scores alongside board merit, following state guidelines.

Undergraduate (B.Com, BBA, B.Sc, BCA): Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board in the relevant stream with a qualifying aggregate.

Postgraduate (MBA, M.Tech, M.Sc): A recognized Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. MBA/M.Tech may require valid scores in exams like CMAT, GATE, or state-level PGCET.
