The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level law entrance examination conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to 5-year Integrated LLB programs and postgraduate law programs offered by participating National Law Universities across India. CLAT is one of the most competitive law entrance examinations and serves as the primary gateway to premier NLUs.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 examination in 2026 are also eligible.
  • General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates should secure at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SC/ST candidates should secure at least 40% marks.
  • There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT.
